** Severe Weather Warning **
Dear San Carlos Owners & Guests,
Please know the Gulf Shores weather forecast anticipates high winds over the next few days with an advisory on Saturday as follows:
Friday – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 69. Breezy, with a southeast wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday – Showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms could be severe and produce heavy rainfall. Patchy fog. High near 71. Windy, with a southeast wind 15 to 25 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
** High Rip Current – Today through late Sunday night. If you enter the water please recognize that even the best swimmers can be swept away from shore by rip currents. If you do become caught in a rip current, do not attempt to swim against it. Instead, try to relax, stay afloat, wait until the current lessens, and then approach the shoreline from a different direction.
* Please bring any light furniture or belongings into your unit or secure them on your balcony before the strongest winds arrive Saturday morning.
I will continue to update as this system develops.
Sincerely,
-Dan
