* Weather & Water Conditions Update *
Dear San Carlos Owners:
Please note that the waters are currently closed to the public. I have placed notification signs throughout San Carlos and have also been conveying this information verbally. The official warning reads as follows:
“** Warning: Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Panama City and South Walton Beach have posted double red flags due to “extreme surf conditions and presence of deadly rip currents.” All waters are closed to the public. Anyone voluntarily entering the water is subject to arrest. The sand portions of the beaches remain open.”
In regards to what has now been named “Tropical Storm Barry”, please note that the National Hurricane Center skipped right over the tropical depression phase and named Tropical Storm Barry as of 10 a.m. CDT today. Forecasters also adjusted the storm’s path a little farther to the east, issued tropical storm and surge warnings and extended tropical storm watches right up to the Alabama border. However there are no tropical storm or hurricane watches for Alabama at this time.
I will keep everyone updated as these matters progress. Please feel free to call/text with any specific questions or concerns (251-747-4111).
